Here's a "fun" scenario: Could North Korea put nukes into cargo containers and park them in US dockyards undetected?http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/why-attacking-north-korea-would-be-suicidal_us_59012b3be4b0768c2682e2bd …

Some thoughts: 1) Does DPRK do much cargo trade with US? I suspect not, & to avoid scrutiny would have to label with different country name.

NK was unable to hide Scud missiles under bags of concrete and ship them to Yemen without us absolutely knowing. http://www.nytimes.com/2002/12/11/world/threats-and-responses-arms-smuggling-scud-missiles-found-on-ship-of-north-korea.html …

Yeah, I don't know how confident they'd be about this. Again, I think nuke smuggling wd be hard to detect w/technical means, BUT

If such an attack were to occur (God forbid), could we tell afterward who was responsible? How?

Nuclear forensics /probably/ could identify the plant that produced the fissile material.

Googling that, I find an APS & AAAS report. Might read. (But first reading space suit report.) https://www.aps.org/policy/reports/popa-reports/upload/nuclear-forensics.pdf …

Einstein's 1939 letter to FDR warned of port explosions. 1946 Crossroads tests showed radiation hazard of seawater detonations.

Could they land nukes with small boats on some desolate stretch of Oregon/Washington coast and drive them wherever in U-Haul vans?

Could they just smuggle nuke parts into the country by putting them on top of a few tons of cocaine, then seal them into some basement?

I'm more worried about one of their subs getting close to the USA in international waters with a Polaris style nuke.

"Undetected," perhaps a keynote? Not sure the scanners are light enough for Quadcopter platforms, as yet
