Slightly consoling: ~53% of the Americans who voted (incl. 3rd party), voted against Trump. If turnout was higher, he would have been toast.

I cannot find that consoling: Since turnout was not higher, we now can be toast due to someone who asks: Why not use nukes?
It is only slightly consoling in that it does not mean the country is actually on board with what he stands for, is what I mean.

I am much more worried about what he will do the environment than I am the nuke issue. It is just as much an existential threat.

Certainly! However, due to his personality I am extremely worried about how he deals with complicated dangerous situations.
