@wellerstein Is that really possible? I thought Earth's curvature made anything past ~100Mt kind of pointless?
To destroy an area the size of "Texas or France" requires a gigaton-range weapon. Which would be very heavy, probably not for missiles.

@gfish When the US studied these "very high yield" weapons, they contemplated detonating them high, because their thermal effect was vast.
