@wellerstein There are 30n^2-10 hexagons. A soccer ball has n=1; the one in your picture has n=2, so 110 hexagons. -

@wellerstein when r is a multiple of 3 (r=3n), the 20r^2 triangles give you 12 pentagons (5 triangles each) and (20r^2-60)/6 hexagons
