      @wellerstein I only recently learned that the U-235 was delivered by the Indianapolis, which was sunk by a sub four days later.

      @wellerstein A very good point; though, do you know if the Indianapolis was escorted en route to Tinian anyway?

      @GWilliamThomas I don't think it was. For the trip to Tinian it was considered a safe and fast route.
