I found myself wondering, is this what death will feel like? Cold, clammy, distant. Then everything rebooted. 10 minutes later I was fine.

@wellerstein I know someone who died and she said it felt like the color white and serenity. For what that's worth.

@machinewithout That was about the opposite of what I felt — black and discomfort. So hopefully death is better than vasovagal syncope! :-)

@wellerstein well to be fair she didn't suffer brain death (clearly) so it could have been what heart failure felt like. Still. Hopefully.

@wellerstein Alex, don't tell those stories any more. They're relevant & fascinating & info I need but I'm just not quite strong enough.

@wellerstein Also: belatedly, I'm sorry you went through that, it sounds pretty damn unpleasant.

@AnnFinkbeiner Oh, it wasn't so bad. Anything that you recover from in 20 minutes can't be too bad.

@wellerstein ok then. But no more mortality or intimations of mortality for today, ok? I'm glad you recovered so quickly.

@wellerstein no, your death will likely have nowhere near that amount of dignity
