@wellerstein Did they know what they were working on? Did they have the chance to consider the ethics of it?
The real question is becoming: which universities and big engineering companies did NOT work on the atomic bomb?

@dbentley I think most of them had no clue what they were working on. Most were doing very small parts of the overall program.
