@wellerstein Mail to Cap Hill gets irradiated, too. They've done this since the anthrax scare. Mail arrives all crispy and crunchy and late.

@Woolaf@wellerstein It's a good thing that anthrax spores cannot travel by FedEx. -
@Joshua_Pollack@Woolaf This is what I wondered about, too. I guess the idea is that you can't do those other means as anonymously. -
@wellerstein@Woolaf Yep. That's also why Facebook is anthrax-proof. -
@Joshua_Pollack@wellerstein I did not create the policy, I'm just confirming that it exists. I get mail very late and very crispy... -
@Woolaf Yep. I'm surprised@wellerstein wasn't aware of it. -
@Joshua_Pollack@Woolaf I've never heard of it before! I certainly didn't imagine that everything I sent in to DOE got lightly toasted.

@wellerstein@scadaman irradiation leading to extreme heat ? I have never heard of that, that must some serious dose there. -
@IgorCarron@wellerstein Likely many kGy -
@scadaman@wellerstein so the delays are activation related. Wow ! I wonder if the waiting period is saliva or ink related. -
@scadaman@wellerstein 56kGy still. - End of conversation
