@wellerstein what does the radius of the circle represent?

-
@JohanDvs Relative power level of the reactor. -
@wellerstein you are not worried that some people might confuse this with some measure of threat? -
@JohanDvs At the moment, this is just a demonstration of the visualization. I haven't made it "live" yet, and this is not its final form. -
@wellerstein haven't we confused nuclear power w nuc weapons enough?Y not plot with pilot wave and solar power and call it"green tech map"? -
@JohanDvs I fear you are reading your own insecurities into the data. These are research reactors, in any case, not power reactors. -
@wellerstein hope so

@wellerstein What are the big gray ones? -
@GWilliamThomas PHENIX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ph%C3%A9nix …) and FFTF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_Flux_Test_Facility …). Prototype breeder reactors. -
@GWilliamThomas They are both considered "small scale" for commercial reactors designs but are huge compared to most research reactors. -
@wellerstein Thx - I'm fascinated at the moment by liquid sodium reactors and the persistence of interest in them.

@wellerstein a worrying overlap with NukeMap, from a certain perspective…Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@wellerstein love for new react. types to go live. But new comm. react. are slow to adopt new designs. because risks + (already high )cost.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
