@russianforces I wonder how much of it was driven by scientists, or by fact that bio might still have surprises, unlike CW, nukes, etc. -
@wellerstein My guess is the lack of funding killed most of it, but surprises might still be there -
@russianforces Well, what I meant was, synth bio is still an expanding frontier, scientifically, whereas nukes and CW, not so much. -
@wellerstein Yes, but that means the stuff done in 1980s is too old. It's not space where rockets only get better with age
