Hmm. I think i've over corrected on my undergrad "Technology and Culture" syllabus such that students might think that ALL tech is sexist/racist/abelist (fair enough). What anthro/STS readings do you like that could breathe some optimism/excitement back into this class?

What I like about it is that it's a rare piece of STS-y literature (admittedly activist) that doesn't take the critique as the end of the discussion, but as the beginning of it.

that's perfect! After a quick skim i'm deciding whether to pair it with Winner or leave it for the end of the class when we talk about futures. thanks!

When I teach it (for whatever it is worth), I use Winner as the start of the conversation (and spend a lot of time unpacking his examples, etc.), and then use Sclove as the end of the unit, as sort of weaponized-Winner.
