Well I tend to find that most people don't really need extra monitors, just more screen space to do work on so I have 3 monitors but really, I can get away with one large monitor rather than 3

There's a Chrome/Firefox plugin called GoodTwitter that forces twitter back to the old format. It forces the browser to trick Twitter (just Twitter) that it's an old Mozilla standard that's not compatible with the new layout, so Twitter serves the old style instead. Works great.
