It’s interesting that ICBMs and SLBMs existed solely to set aloft nuclear warheads whereas bombers could take on a dual role. Only until recently were SSBNs retrofitted to also fill a dual conventional role. Might ICBMs be phased out because they cannot find a similar rebirth?
