Technical caveats: it is not supposed to perfectly locate your city (it is fuzzing off the last number of your IP address, which is just your ISP's location anyway). The goal is to figure out the nearest "big city target" to you, not to figure your location out exactly.
"It works great" = "totally plausible big city result." "It can't find me" = "it says it can't find me at all, no big city result offered." "It finds me but is wrong" = "it thinks it finds me, but the answer it gives is VERY incorrect, and the big city result is not plausible."

Right state, but 300+ miles off and not the nearest big city in the state (or out of it)

I live next to Amsterdam, but the location it finds is Apeldoorn, about 80 km away. However, the biggest nearby city is… Amsterdam, so the result is correct?
