Whenever computers appear in my dreams, I can't work the interface properly. Like, the mouse-keyboard-screen connection never works right. Do other people experience this? And is there some kind of cognitive reason why this would be so? (I also finding reading v. hard in dreams.)

(My three working theories are: a) this reflects some deeply Freudian relationship with my computer, b) maybe some part of my brain that is needed for this to work isn't playing nice in dreaming, and c) maybe my brain just can't simulate a computer very realistically)

Akin to the "not being able to give a lecture properly" genre?

what's funny is that in my dreams I'm just as capable of BSing a lecture as I am in real life 🤪 I had a dream earlier this year in which I was slated to teach an Intro to Economics class, and I just BSed an entire dream lecture about how economics was about "value" not "money"

        I would monetize that.

One of the main plot points of Inception was that you can't really read, read watches, or use electronic devices in dreams. That is backed up by dream research, if I remember correctly some interviews I did years ago

I’ve experienced somewhat of the opposite problem, I had pop-up ads show up once. Had to keep clicking the ‘X’ in the corner of the window to allow the dream to resume. Not sure how they’re monetizing that one but way to go, Google. Impressive reach.

I have the same problem with telephones in dreams. I cannot get them to work properly.

I can never dial the correct phone number in dreams. Like even 911 becomes 912 and I have to start all over again.

I experienced it too ! I think it may be the same thing that happens when you ”fight” while dreaming 😅

Everytime I need the toilet in a dream, every toilet in a hotel, club, or wherever is constantly engaged, or broken. This is a good thing probably! :)

I often solved un-resolved algorithm/coding/programing issues from one day to the next in my dreams ... so maybe the problem is that you chose the wrong pill. 😎pic.twitter.com/XXcK0SiZOQ

It's an intriguing thing. I can read clearly and use all sorts of machines in my dreams, so it's probably more subconscious bias than a global human cognition thing. Either that or I'm a mutant.

There was an episode in Batman: The Animated Series about the inability to properly read in dreams:https://dcau.fandom.com/wiki/Perchance_to_Dream …
