The take-away I'm getting is that Maxbox GL support in mobile browsers is still pretty hit and miss. Which is fine. I've modded the code so that in theory it falls back to something more supportable in such environments. A true mobile version will be created in 2019 as an aside.
I’m not seeing the problems others describe on iOS 12 — older device, though, iPhone SE (Apple A9 chip). Seems to work fine.
