There was an E-2 Hawkeye flying over campus the other day. I can only imagine they were preparing for a Russian SSGN attack. I've come to mostly expect these things

There's some base north of us that occasionally sends military planes down the Hudson. About one every couple months I see a group of Ospreys going south.

HMS Queen Elizabeth heading out to sea?

The HMS QE is apparently anchored south of Manhattan (near the Statue of Liberty); the helicopters are all in the upper part of midtown. My guess is they have to do with the Time Warner building at Columbus Circle.

I always noticed the same thing in Chicago. You can tell the news helicopters by the big globe on the nose that houses the camera.

I don't have my camera with the zoom lens with me today, so I can't really see them very well.
