There have been new datasets compiled since the last BEIR (Biological Effects of Ionizing Radiation) report, and there is another BEIR report in the works. This is all for the good — but it's not fast.

But unless we have *very* good evidence to the contrary, I think we ought to err on the side of being conservative on these sorts of things. We have already seen, many times in the past, what erring on the side of being cavalier about risks leads to.
