I can only think of one person I know well who HAS been in a bar fight to my knowledge. And it's because he is an ugly drunk. I once defused a toxic dude in a bar by boring him to death, though. If that counts. One of my secret skills.

I'm reminded of the quote from the show Justified: "If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole." If you find yourself surrounded by people who got into bar fights, you may be hanging around assholes.

I've been in dozens of bar fights and dozens more almost bar fights. Never started one though. Also, I was a bouncer. Can confirm most people who start bar fights seem like assholes.
