I think some knowledge of the Fallout games is useful for talking to the youth of today; it is the ref. point many of them have for nuclear contamination (and the essential inaccuracies of it are useful to know for that reason). That's the closest I'll make for a plug for them!

Yeah. As unrealistic as I know it to be, it did introduce me to the idea of nuclear war as a reality, and millions of people play it today. Most other nuclear fiction is losing relevance for modern generations, and until they get their own Day After, they’ll stick with Fallout.

I’ll add; take any YT video about nuclear war. Animations of the Hiroshima attack. Documentaries about nuclear winter. The Day After itself. Comments not reflecting the US Govt line, will be dropping Fallout quotes. Perhaps a reflection on how the game affected them personally.

Is it too much to ask movies/games to stop portraying overalls/SCBA/lvl A as effective/practical (as they interpret it) PPE for fallout? That’s all I want. Then I’ll be greedy & ask for TDS, dose reconstruction mini-games, & chronic exposures that kill the character in 40 yrs.
