english or german on the Nena track, and do you want to borrow the LP?

I've also always wanted to make an English subtitled version of the German version, which I think is even more clear. regardless, it's great.

I am a Nena heretic in that I prefer the English lyrics to the German. I think they flow better and have better "play" to them. "Horizont" is such a train wreck to throw into a song, for example.
-
And I think lines like: "Worry, worry, super-scurry / Call out the troops now in a hurry" — that really works! Compare with "Riefen, „Krieg!“, und wollten Macht / Mann, wer hätte das gedacht?" — really doesn't flow, and feels like a waste of a line.

The real contrast to the "Riefen, Krieg!" line is, "This is what we've waited for / This is it, boys, this is war" — which is MUCH superior to "Screaming 'war!' and wanting power / man, who would have thought?" both lyrically and semantically.

Oh, yea, the English line is much better there. I think a ska or punk band covered it with one of the verses swapped at some point, which makes me wonder whether a more-mixed version might be best of all...

regardless, I know what record I'm putting on while I clean the living room...
