I have genuine concern about trans people feeling excluded, but white cis women if someone saying “you guys” is the microaggression that really gets you, my sympathy is at micro levels TBH

As another Californian for whom "you guys" is a universal genderless plural in my head, I am constantly self-shaming and correcting myself when (esp. in teaching) it comes out unbidden. I usually awkwardly add "...and gals" as if that makes it better (I know it doesn't really).
