Fascinating. Will there be any discussion of how Cold War secrecy fed into modern state secrecy, like secret drone campaigns in countries where there are no declared wars and the secret OLC memos authorizing various practices to which the voting public might have objected?
-
The book is on specifically NUCLEAR secrecy, largely centered on weapons. So while it does nod a bit beyond that — nuclear secrecy is sort of the original sin in respect to permanent national security secrecy — I have tried to keep it focused (because it is already too much).

Of course. All these issues are so complex that any single broad topic like "secrecy" could fill a library as soon as a chapter. Have enjoyed your blog a lot, will look forward to your upcoming book.

I’m at a similar place in my draft manuscript, and suddenly, surprisingly, thankfully, feel the wind behind me as I feel the final growing incrementally, if still slowly, closer.
