Today was a "sit in Washington Square Park and work on my book" day. Beautiful weather to write a new chapter section on the history of the release of the Oppenheimer transcript (there are some interesting twists and turns).

I had forgotten that while at NARA years ago, I was able to see the originals of Oppenheimer's letter to the Personnel Security Board, and also the originals of the AEC decision stripping him of his clearance. Neat photos to find on my computer.pic.twitter.com/rEUS5LB8of

I also came across a copy I had made of a "State of the Union" address draft that Truman never gave, which would have proclaimed the existence of the H-bomb to the world. I will write a blog post about it soon, I suspect! Fun to find this stuff again.pic.twitter.com/1EzEgqmdGX
