I have said it before but I'll say it again: the degree of parallel thinking, towards radically different ends, between Teller and Szilard is always remarkable to me. Teller thinks such weapons are interesting, Szilard thinks they are horrifying, but both are thinking about them.

3 x 10^29 neutrons is 500 kiloMoles of neutrons (i.e. about half a ton of fast neutrons!). What is the expected yield of the “10 ton with 30% efficiency” device? If he means 10 tons of deuterium as the fusing fuel then that would be 60MT or less.
