Redacted versions are from the files of the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy (declassified 1995), microfilm scans are from the FBI's file on Klaus Fuchs (declassified 1998, I think). Doubt the differences are due to guidance issues so much as a different redactor's judgment.

If you are asking if the Rosenbergs knew Fuchs, no. Fuchs knew no other moles and vice versa — basic spy-craft is to keep moles ignorant of one another as much as possible, so if one is caught they cannot rat out the others.

Didn’t the Soviets also compare information from the various independent spies to see if their information matched up, as a basic validation method / meteric?

I think the Soviets also compared a censored version of the Smythe report with an earlier, uncensored release of it, providing some valuable pointers about what was particularly important.
