Or to put it another way: American domination of global affairs has often led to pretty bad outcomes, and the post-Cold War monopole hasn't really been as fun a ride as one might imagine.
My internal monologue is always "I can't believe they're blowing up the order of things... though the order of things was pretty bad... but what they seem to be replacing it with doesn't look like an improvement..."

But will replacing that with a disunited Europe, revanchist Russia, and carefully-imperialist China lead to a better world? It's hard for me to see that being the case.
