If something was created through political forces, does that necessarily mean it’s political? I don’t think so. E.g a bridge.

This seems like nitpicking on a high degree. Even if it is conceded that the noun "the scientific method" is apolitical, that stops being the case as soon as a human interacts with it, so how can it possibly matter?

So if a child asks the question why the sky is orange during the sunset, that is political? Aren't you making your idea of science and scientists a bit strict by restricting it to career scientists and science funded by vested interests.
