They wanted to know if solid fuel really worked (if it did, they could cancel their "wet" tests entirely), and if partially-enriched lithium (in Li-6) worked well (if it didn't, they'd cancel their unenriched tests). So the results of Bravo/Shrimp affected the rest of the series.
