@hyc_symas is that argument against using github for SCM, or using github for issue tracking? Seems like the violation is using it for non-coding activities. -
The problem is being dependent on github at all. If you used the issue tracker and get kicked off, a lot of your commit history gets crippled.

If that's the case, you're writing terrible commit messages. "Fixes #54" is really bad indeed

Indeed, a commit without explanation is bad, but still, most of the context will be in the ticket.
