Was going to say "run towards them" instead. Yours has a little more oomph. It fits with a notion of "fail fast" that many programmers subscribe to: When testing an idea to see if it will work, start by testing the part that's most likely to fail. You waste less time that way.

IMHO the worst advice a young person can get is to “fail forward”. Even failing has to be a success. No. Failing sucks, and that’s ok.

Mmmm. Also many problems *can't* be run away from. They're the kind of thing that you'll tend to reproduce or find wherever you go, until you learn a new way of being. But you might be able to ditch your current situation for one that'll be a better opportunity to learn!
