I don't think I'm especially privileged or underprivileged in this regard, but I've noticed that it seems to be an overwhelmingly important factor in outcomes for the people around me & a strong filter on success

I've been joking/not joking about throwing an "intellectual bar fight" dinner where I'd gather the most successful & brightest hot-tempered people I know who strongly disagree on stuff... the bottleneck is on temper + success. There are some candidates, but it's a rare combo!

I've been meaning to throw a similar kind of party, where people would have to argue the opposite side of what they believe, and then after a while break roles, and tell each other whether they felt like their side was accurately represented
