IMO, if in your social life being persuasive is a much more valuable skill than being persuaded, you’re not hanging out with the right people

Seriously, going to great lengths to be in rooms where I’m the stupidest person present has done wonders. Ask ALL the questions. Brilliant people will tell you the condensed version of what they’ve spent years learning, and they’ll enjoy doing it & think better of you for caring

It also is part of the weird societal pressure to "have your own unique ideas" about everything as if that's ever been a normal thing... as if having the ideas is the most important bit... part of our warped glorification of the hero when getting things done is group process.
