Also, super cool that these companies get handed your most sensitive data as a matter of course, then get to sell it back to you for $16-25/month in packages you'd only buy to ensure that they and/or the companies reporting to them haven't fucked up your life. Great incentives
And kudos to the federal government, who brilliantly decided that your *identity* should be password-protected with a single permanent non-random nine-digit number that you must routinely give to total strangers just to function in life
SSNs were never supposed to be an ID. On the original cards it used to say “do not use this as an id “ or something to that effect, and then everyone did it anyways so they got rid of that
