Also, super cool that these companies get handed your most sensitive data as a matter of course, then get to sell it back to you for $16-25/month in packages you'd only buy to ensure that they and/or the companies reporting to them haven't fucked up your life. Great incentives

We're trying to. In the system we're working on for example, no company stores your sensitive data. Instead, you publicly store a cryptographic signature. If a company needs to see your data, they can check it matches the signature.
