The best founders I know really, really love humans. SV tech gets pegged as this really antisocial phenomenon, but afaict you’re swimming upstream unnecessarily here if you don’t genuinely want to make people happy. In a lot of spaces, that’s a disadvantage you can’t afford

People confuse this with PR bedside manner. There are hard-to-fake signals that are less obviously correlated with genuinely trying to help but which matter a lot more. Working really hard is one of them. Choosing investors really carefully, even under pressure, is another.

Successful + “happy,” in the sense that they want to keep doing what they’re doing, will stay with their company for a long time and/or be a repeat founder. +1 in the introvert thing, but that’s not the same as being antisocial

Note that the introvert/awkward thing might be a little overstated... to look extroverted as a public figure, you have to be REALLY extroverted. Wanting a somewhat quiet life ends up looking like introversion
