Bought a ludicrous quantity of yarn 6 years ago during a "live your best life" phase & it's since become fundamentally impossible to give it away or even just admit that knitting sounds terrible The term for this "aspirational clutter," but I prefer "graveyard of unborn hobbies"

What do you think would be wrong with e.g. taking it to REACH and making it their windfall / problem?

My understanding of the tweet is that the answer is “but I might want to learn to knit! Or crochet! I can’t get rid of it”

Yeah, it's an irrational belief that I'll feel foolish/wasteful if I do one day decide to pick it up. It's very obviously *more* foolish/wasteful to lug several boxes of dead hobbies around every time I move just to have them take up closet space, but sys1 is slow to get on board
