Total aside, but I usually hate artist statements, & this reminds me why. If you can reduce something to text, why on earth are you doing art about it?
Unfortunately, as artists, we need to market what we do to the art establishment to have viable careers, at least early/mid career. And that has become more about signalling in-group status to that power structure than just about anything else. Ugh.
