So it’s kinda weird that: ⚬ everyone is just assumed to have strong opinions on dozens of complex, discrete political topics or else be some kind of civic simpleton ⚬ signaling the “right” policy prefs seems way more important than signaling the “right” outcome prefs

Researchers can dedicate the whole of their careers to *attempting* to model e.g. the impact of various global or state-level immigration policies on incontrovertibly important metrics, but “I’m not sure” is definitely not an ok contribution to any watercooler convo on the topic
