Researchers can dedicate the whole of their careers to *attempting* to model e.g. the impact of various global or state-level immigration policies on incontrovertibly important metrics, but “I’m not sure” is definitely not an ok contribution to any watercooler convo on the topic
Also, may god have mercy on the soul of anyone who suggests that there may be unavoidable tradeoffs between desirable outcomes
