Biggest haul actually goes to global development, but those funding gaps closed pretty fast & it's now pretty clear that most value is trapped in highly competent people w/ novel ideas who need grants & strong collaborators. Legit competency is rare & it's a seller's market, tho
FWIW I think this thread would have most EA thinkers nodding along (for all but the AI stuff, though that's still divisive in EA). First bottleneck was money, next was misc. talent for extant orgs, now it's competent first-movers with good ideas. Who actually, like, do stuff

Sorta, though the profit motive is obviously a messier thing in the EA context. No established exchange rates for different kinds of "goodness" & everyone comes in with their own. I think it might be a bit of a distraction. I'm all for a slight philosophy club -> hackathon shift
