Here's a Q: when did you last read an article about an amazing woman in tech working on something important? Not a story *about a man* saying something awful. Not a story with the keywords "woman," "tech” AND "sex." Thread follows.

This incredible woman *has* been profiled in the media: “Meet Gwynne Shotwell, the Woman Who Could Take Us to Mars.” It’s in Marie Claire. So here’s the cover for that issue of Marie Claire… ...wait, where’s Gwynne? This woman runs a f@&$ing rocket company!pic.twitter.com/UOSKRmnjpF

Basically, the coolest woman ever is a below-the-fold profile in Marie Claire. What fundamental failure of humanity is this?

Part of it is probably that Shotwell is too busy running a $20+bn rocket company to care about self-promotion. But *maybe* a contributing factor is that there are "better" stories to tell — for example, that her boss did not get laid at a party 6 months ago. Let us reflect.

That would be amazing. I have seen "Musk for president" comments in the past but now that you mention it I think she would make an even better president. She looks better at politics and PR in general. We are in serious need of people like her in leading positions.
