Example: Being polyamorous can be 100% the right choice for someone, but they'll still have some relationship troubles (bc, y'know, we're all human) -- but if they admit to those troubles, some ppl will say "Oh it's bc you're polyamorous"

I think a lot of people genuinely can't reason through e.g. "I have problems directly related to my polyamory that would clearly not be present were I monogamous, but polyamory is still on balance the preferable option for me."

I find this particularly interesting re: polyamory, given that virtually all poly folks have had monogamous relationships while few critics of poly have direct experience with it. (Anecdotally, critics of non-culty poly who've tried it tend to be considerably more even-handed.)
