Sad that IVF w/ PGD hasn't made this a non-issue. If there's anything worth borrowing money for, having a healthy kid oughta make the list.

Well, it's probably not quite as bad as it looks. These kids are ~0-10yo. So have 30 years to fly to China for grey-market CRISPR treatment.

It's dominant, caused by a malformed protein. Adult gene therapy tends to do best if only a small percentage of cells need modification.
