We already make room for people whose mental illness is so severe and judgment-warping that they cannot determine right from wrong or understand the consequences of their actions. That's the appropriate standard. What's happened to us?

This is how things are going to be from now on I guess. Local Judges and state approved therapists are going have tremendous leeway in deciding which crimes are going to get punished, and when. Bad times.

I experienced severe depression and being broke, having to move into the forest. Never once did I think it was justifiable to steal from or harm people. Being poor or depressed isn't an excuse for committing crime.
