Friend of mine for 15 yrs is now a very woke activist since being in a new relationship. He actively doesn’t see his friends anymore. It saddens me not seeing him anymore but I’m also generally worried about him, especially if the relo doesn’t work out.

It is actually a good thing to ostracize/expel racists, fascists, and other intolerant ideologues from groups that do not support those goals. Allowing him to remain, but reporting TOS violations, is a really bad argument. Smart fascists know how to avoid crossing the line.
