I don't think what Toobin did is the worst thing in the world or that he intended to get caught, but come on, are we actually debating whether inadvertently exposing your penis to colleagues while masturbating on the clock is a fireable offense?

Well, Imagine this. What if he did manage to mute. Would be a bit weird, but nobody would be that bothered. While I would definitely fire him for not being smart enough to mute properly. I'm not sure I'm too happy with this ban/cancel/fire mentality. There has to be some thought.

I think that's a good rule and I have no problem living by it. I don't say the guy is smart, or doesn't deserve getting fired, I'm just more in the camp of a) I feel sorry for the schmo, and b) I don't think Twitter pile-ons are good things. Mobs don't do restraint or judgment.
