I'm with Aella here. FWIW, I think a lot of people make intimate lifestyle choices that are likely to make them less happy, but it's a free country and the extent to which we feel the urge to move everything into some immutable category for political defense is counterproductivehttps://twitter.com/Aella_Girl/status/1316429182616903681 …

Yes. Which ironically would work for IQ as well if only the left understood the topic properly. If the population knows that someone has worse outcomes and income because of bad genetic luck it is *more willing* to help them

Cultural acceptance of the "it's just who you are" frame has probably also helped a lot of parents start from the right place when their kids come out, saving the kids needless mental anguish. This plays out within families in addition to broader politics.

Odd to me that demonizing aspects of choice is done in defense of homosexual preferences when I know several gay people who didn't really realize they were gay until later in life b/c they made a wrong-for-them -decision- early in life and were free to -change that choice later-!

Leaves me with the impression that LGBT activists are extremely nervous that the reverse might occur and that some gay people might eventually realize they're not actually gay

Also, this is part of self determination. The basic autonomy of a person is to choose who they love. As such, gay people don't need to justify themselves to other bisybodies.
