True, I just think deal breakers are trying to run a regression on variables in a complex system. I don't think it's that clean. I've had what I thought was a deal breaker end one relationship end up being an attractive quirk in another.
People are usually wrong about their dealbreakers. You find out what your values (and your partner's) are by what you tolerate and sustain, and what you can't.

I agree with that with the caveat that each pairing can shift toleration, and sometimes negate the dealbreaker altogether.

Yup, and what they say they want and actually want changes over time and change with different people. When I say change, I don't necessarily mean completely, but whether it can be sustainably tolerated as Mason wrote. It's all dynamic.
