Pledge or no pledge, a lot of tech companies would be wise to offer a generous one-time "if this isn't working for you, you should find a better fit" packagehttps://twitter.com/ForbesCrypto/status/1314282179187408903 …

It would probably lead to less lawsuits if they did. 😂

was 5% of the coinbase workforce. for perspective, zappos lost 30% of it's workforce when they offered a severance package for people who didn't want to move to the self-management system.

If I were to receive a 6-month severance package if I quit, I’d seriously consider it whether my views align or not. It’s a 6-month paid vacation and as a dev I can find a job in a couple of weeks so 🤷‍♂️

So the 5% who bring politics to work are gone, and the remaining 95% don't have to bite their tongue at the water cooler on their way to the next HR-mandated struggle session. I wonder how many companies are looking at this and thinking, "really, it's that easy?"

I seem to remember Zappos had something along these lines: they would pay your to leave

Ppl who got up and left in the middle of a pandemic (and record unemployment) are probably pretty sure of their own employability. they may be delusional, or they may be some of the best ppl on the team. Likely many other objected but aren’t confident enough to just quit

Reminds me of the Zappos “Pay to Quit” program where they would pay you $5k to quit. The employees that weren’t engaged would take it.
